Well, actually there have been several, but this is the time of year when we stop to appreciate one of them in particular.  2000 (+/- a few) years later the lesson has yet to be learned, but I still have hope that it will be someday.  I need to work on this like everyone else: realize that all those “strangers” family, and love everyone to the best of your ability.

Lasting peace to all.

Anyone who has played civilization knows that it’s much harder to start wars under a working democracy.

While I do not like the idea of consecutive impeachments, the Vice President has tried to undermine the very system of government for which he works. Dennis Kucinich is trying, against large odds, to bring articles of impeachment against the V.P., and I truly think this is a just cause. If you do too, go here and send the following or a similar message to your congressperson. It will take all of 20 seconds, and it will, at the very least, give you the right to complain if it fails.

Congress[man/woman] [name],
Vice President Cheney has worked hard to expand the powers of the executive branch beyond those afforded by the constitution. If we wish to preserve democracy in this country, we must take action against such expansions. Congressman Dennis Kucinich will introduce a resolution on the floor of the House of Representatives on November 6 that will bring articles of impeachment against the Vice President. I urge you to vote No on tabling, Yes on giving impeachment a chance.
Sincerely,
[your name]

This is a blog about peace, and how to effect it in your life each day. We humans have spent considerable mental and physical energy on this subject already, but this blog exists because the goal is not yet attained, and we (conceitedly) feel we have something to offer. The text to be contained herein should not be misconstrued as advice, because we do not presume to know what you should do. We offer these posts simply as things that have worked in our own lives.
